Huskies Fall to Pfeiffer
MISENHEIMER, N.C.--The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped an 8-1 non-conference decision to Pfeiffer University on Thursday.
Bloomsburg trailed 1-0 in the top of the fourth when with two outs Tyler Gansner (Lancaster/Lampeter-Strasburg) singled and was followed by a walk by Mike Austin (Dallastown/Dallastown). With runners on first and second, a Carlos Medina (Lititz/Manheim) single to left scored Gansner.
Pfeiffer put two runs on the board in the sixth, then, added three more runs in the seventh and one in the eighth for an 8-1 advantage.
For the visiting Huskies, starting pitcher Mike Rossetti (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg) took the loss while tossing 5 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and three runs. At the plate Kevin Ward (Clifton Heights/Monsignor Bonner), Gansner, Austin, Medina, and Bill Phillips (Shahola/Delaware Valley) had the hits for Bloomsburg.
The Huskies, 5-5, play at Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday night at 7 p.m.
